St. Lucia stands to benefit from increased flights out of Canada, according to Minister for Tourism, Dr. Ernest Hilaire. At a pre-cabinet press conference, Hilaire stated that the North American airline giant, Air Canada has agreed to triple its weekly flights to the island following series of promotional events. The Minister stated that this is to satisfy increasing demand for airlift to and from the Canadian market.
“It was quite successful. For the first time, we tried to host a lunch for the major influencers in Canada, in the Toronto area and that went very well…. we got extensive coverage” Hilaire said.
This is positive news for the industry as the island is currently ramping up interest for the summer travelers.
