Stakeholders across a broad spectrum within the creative industries and beyond are expected to benefit from the earnings of the St. Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival. That’s according to projections echoed by Minister for Culture, Ernest Hilaire. According to the Minister, the economic impact can be seen through the various income-earning opportunities created by jazz events for small-scale vendors. The government plans to duplicate this model going forward and plans to establish a creative economy that provides sustainable gains from a series of events rather than one-offs. The minister is adamant that the goal is to provide diverse opportunities, where multiple sectors of the society can draw yield.
