Prominent businessman Conrad Darius James, known for co-founding the popular Dr. Freezer’s ice cream parlor and fast food outlet on High Street in Castries, has passed away at the age of seventy-nine.

Mr. James and his wife established Dr. Freezer’s nearly four decades ago, recognizing a demand among students due to the proximity of four schools. Following the success of the original High Street location, his son Darren James later opened two more outlets in the city. The name “Dr. Freezer’s” was inspired by the brand of an ice cream-making machine the couple purchased when they first started the business.

Conrad Darius James is survived by his wife, four children, six grandchildren, and others who mourn his loss.
