Saint Lucia’s entrepreneurial landscape now stands poised for unprecedented growth and recognition on the global market following the Packaging 4 Exports Project. A collaborative effort between the Government, the International Trade Centre, and Export Saint Lucia, aimed to elevate the visual presentation of locally made products to meet international standards. This initiative provided renewed packaging solutions for 21 small businesses and concluded with a grand handover ceremony on Wednesday, February 7th.
The event showcased innovative packaging tailored to enhance the trajectory of local MSMEs. Sunita Daniel, CEO of Export Saint Lucia, highlighted that this initiative opened doors for entrepreneurs to access new markets, resulting in boosted sales opportunities.
“Enhanced packaging indicates professionalism, reliability and attention to detail, instilling confidence in consumers and fostering brand loyalty” she said. “It is expect, through collaborative efforts between our exporters, Export Saint and the support of the government of Saint Lucia that the exporters will see a remarkable improvement in their market reach and sales performance, paving the way for sustainable growth and expansion” the CEO added.
Commerce Minister Emma Hippolyte stated that the project corresponds with the government’s efforts to strengthen the Saint Lucian brand, emphasizing that this improvement starts within the small business community.
“As a government, we have embraced the need for a strong brand” the Minister said. “So too we must encourage in our SMEs the need for strong vibrant brands and to continually embrace international standards”
