Faf and Spinners Help Kings Defeat TKR
The Saint Lucia Kings have returned to winning ways , as they claimed a 54-run victory over the Trinbago Knight Riders on Saturday at Warner Park in Grenada. This victory extends the Kings’ run at the top of the table and further fuels hopes of a playoff berth for the team.
The game got off to stellar start for the Boys in Blue, as Captain Faf Duplessis and Johnson Charles put on a 85-run opening stand. The batting effort was further bolstered by a solid 32, by Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza, leading the team to 167 for 5 at the end of the innings.
In the second innings, the Kings gave an exceptional effort with the ball, limiting the Knight Riders to 113. Pick of the bowlers was left arm spinner Khary Pierre, who bagged 4 wickets for only 20 runs. Additional wickets from Rostan Chase and Man of the Match Raza, lead to victory in the 15th over.
The Kings remain hopeful, that they can take this form into their next game, against the Barbados Royals on September 2nd.
