As the Caribbean Premiere League returns to the island this week, numerous young fans are poised to enjoy the matches, courtesy of the Guardian Group. The insurance conglomerate, a longstanding CPL corporate sponsor, recognized the significance of supporting this vital initiative.
During a press conference held on Tuesday, August 15th, more than one thousand four hundred tickets were handed over to Ministry officials. These tickets will be distributed to various young beneficiaries, granting them complimentary access to the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium for the day-games on Saturday, August 19th, and Sunday, August 20th. Furthermore, the national Under 19 cricket team members will also reap the benefits of this ticket campaign.
Jason Clairmonte, a representative from Guardian Group, emphasized the company’s strong commitment to Caribbean cricket development. He also stressed the importance of nurturing a passion for the sport among the youth.
“It’s clear that Guardian has been very passionate about cricket in the region” Clairmonte said. “I think the real opportunity here is to not just encourage cricket but encourage cricket in the youth” he added.
