This year, the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards is partaking in observance of World Metrology Day on Friday May 19th. The theme for the celebratory day is “Measurements supporting the global food system.” This theme was chosen in recognition of the increase in challenges placed on food producers by climate change. The Bureau is hosting an Open Day and Press Tour of the Metrology and Agricultural Labs at the National Agricultural Diagnostic Facility (NAD), to showcase the public how metrology affects their everyday lives.
The event welcomes agriculturists from all over the island, seeking to increase their knowledge of the standards stipulated by the Bureau for their particular industry.
