Maundy Lewis has concluded her role as the Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, paving the way for a new individual to take over. This comes following the conclusion of her contract. In her place, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has announced Melissa Paul as her successor. While there may be differing opinions on how she carried out her responsibilities, Lewis expressed thanks for the opportunity and is anticipating her future in a yet-to-be-disclosed position.

“This has been a pleasure for me as press secretary for the last few years to share and grow with you in the position” she said. “It has been one of my highest honours”. Lewis said.

The newly appointed press secretary in her first address to the nation, noted that it is an esteemed privilege to be chosen for the role. Paul, who has a background in linguistics and journalism, noted that Saint Lucians can expect transparent, open communication, from her in this position.

“I understand the power of words, the importance of context and the value of accurate communication. My background has taught me that communication is not just about conveying a message, it’s about building, understanding and trust.” she said.

Only time will tell what the implications of this shift in power will be going forward.
