Underprivileged people in St. Lucia will be the beneficiaries of the local Methodist church’s drive to lend a helping hand. As part of National Caring Month celebrations, the church will be hosting a day of care, which will include grooming and hamper elements. This initiative is being led by the church’s Women’s program and will be held on Saturday, June 10th at the Castries Methodist Church.According to Superintendent Minister for the Methodist Church on island, Reverend Tui Nuku Smith, one of the goals of the event is to highlight need of caring to members of the community. He added that while the church realizes the need for these types of activities regardless of the season, it is important to utilize the celebratory month to drive that point home.The Reverend encouraged the general public to participate in Saturday’s event. He hopes that the proceedings will inspire people to do their best to lend a helping hand.
