Minister for Investment, Dr. Ernest Hilaire, has refuted claims that Saint Lucians will soon require a visa to visit the United Kingdom, due to issue with the country’s Citizen’s by Invest Program. Last week, it was announced that Dominican passport holders will in August lose their visa free access to the UK. Since then speculation is rife that Saint Lucia is next.

According to the Minister, the UK government has not indicated that there are any issues with St. Lucia’s CIP Program, which can lead to restrictions.
“Somebody circulates a story, from an unknown source. that says Dominica first, then Saint Lucia in August and others in September, October and everybody focuses not on what the official British government said, but focusing on an unknown article that somebody as circulated.” Hilaire said. “As far we know, and we are in constant dialogue with all our international partners, there are no issues with our CIP that need addressing now” he added.
Only time will tell, whether Saint Lucians will face any new hurdles, as it relates to getting across British boarders in the near future.
