Opposition senators have opted to sit out Thursday’s Senate session as a show of solidarity with their leader Allen Chastanet.

The fall out is over a vote called by the Speaker of the House to suspend the leader of the Opposition from the Chamber due to his refusal to acquiesce to an order to withdraw a contentious statement regarding a land sale deal.

Senators Dominic FedEx, Herod Stanislaus and Phera Polius made their stance clear by articulating their disproval with the sanctions imposed on Allen Chastanet.

The opposition senators instead elected to host a press conference at the same time that the Senate debate was scheduled to take place
