Prime Minister Philip J Pierre has announced amendments to the regular operations of various establishments to due to the expected passage of Tropical Storm Brett on Thursday. In an address to the nation on Wednesday night, PM Pierre noted the need for caution ahead of this potential disaster and therefore effectively announced the temporary suspension of business and closure of schools.
“I have decided on the following for Thursday, June 22nd. Until further notice all schools will be closed. CAPE exams will go ahead as scheduled. All businesses and government offices will be closed from 1:00 pm. Acting on the advice of aviation authorities, both airports will be closed from 10:30 am.” the PM said.
Tropical Storm Brett is expected to make landfall on Thursday evening.
