On Saturday, September 23, 2023, about 6:15 PM, officers attached to the Micoud Police Station responded to a report of a vehicular collision along the Micoud to Vieux Fort highway at Canelles.
The incident involved a white Honda CRV, driven by Franzie Augustin, a thirty-one year-old resident of High Street Dennery. Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a stationary vehicle. The force of the collision resulted in the overturning of Franzie Augustin’s vehicle.
The motor vehicle driven by Franzie Augustin was damaged extensively as a result of the collision and Franzie Augustin succumbed to the injuries he sustained. Three other male passengers on-board the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and are currently in stable condition.
