The seemingly never-ending wave of violence has flown into 2024, as country recorded its first homicide for the new year following the shooting of 24-year-old Dennery resident Omar Francis, also known as Kodak. Francis was shot and killed around 10 pm on the evening of January 6th as masked gunmen forcibly entered a residence where he was staying in Ravine Poisson. According to reports, the victim was shot multiple times and was declared dead at the scene by a medical practitioner.
The victim was well-known to law enforcement, having been involved in multiple altercations with the police. The matter is currently under investigation. Police are urging anyone with information surrounding the incident to come forward via the crime hotline at 555.
