The Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards has embarked on an initiative to support the development of micro, small and medium enterprises on island. On Tuesday, June 27th, the bureau officially launched a packaging and labelling project, designed to teach entrepreneurs the technical skills needed to appropriately position their businesses in the market. This launch was held on the occasion of International MSME Day.According to the Director of the SLBS, Verne Emmanuel, the project represents part of a broader mandate to commit to the improvement of small businesses on island. “The outcomes of this project will see increase market acceptance of St. Lucian products which conform to international standards” he stated.Interested persons can contact the SLBS or visit the Ministry of Commerce for more information.
