St. Lucia joins the rest of the world in observance of National Caring Day on June 7, 2023. This celebration serves as a reminder to citizens to care for the les fortunate. To commemorate the occasion, the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment hosted a grand launch at Constitution Park in Castries.
The feature speaker was Jessica Jacobie who has served as a trailblazer for the rights for underserved St. Lucians. Jacobie was the first blind St. Lucian to successfully sit the common entrance examination and is now an aid to visually impaired students. In her speech, the pioneer made sure to encourage all members of society, regardless of their circumstance, to care for each other.
