Water and Sewage Company (WASCO), has announced official plans to cope with the approaching Tropical Storm, Brett. According to Timothy James, Head of Disaster Preparedness, in order to facilitate safety, the company will put the vulnerable systems in the south of the island offline. All systems in the north of the island are expected to stay online, unless power failure occurs.
Mr. James also noted that WASCO has beefed up its command center team, in order to cope with the anticipated influx of calls for assistance. He further urged the public to prepare as best as possible.
“WASCO is working to ensure that all areas experiencing interruptions are supplied ahead of the storm. WASCO wishes to remind and encourage our valued customers to activate and initiate all water conservation measures to ensure that they have an adequate supply of clean, portable water, ahead of the storm” he said.
