The West Indies Men’s Cricket team produced a stellar performance on Saturday July 29th, to overcome India in the second ODI. The game served as strong fightback, after the Caribbean side failed to write any headlines with their performance in the first match.
Limiting the guests to a total of 181, at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, the Men in Maroon comfortably chased down the score to win by 6 wickets. Star performances from spinner Gudakesh Motie(3-36) and all rounder Romario Shepard (3-37) with the ball, crippled the Indian batting line-up, and placed the visitors on the back foot. With captain Shai Hope’s 63 not out, on his home ground, victory was secured within 40 overs.
This series is now tied 1-1, with next game serving as a “winner takes all” event. The Windies will seek to score another victory over the subcontinental team when the final ODI is played on August 1st.
